Glass sculpture in amber fired with 23.5ct gold

This is a one off free standing glass sculpture in amber glass fired with 23.5ct gold.

It’s only when it’s taken out of the kiln after a 6 day firing that I can see the result and tell if I’ve captured the essence of my inspiration.

This piece is inspired by the form of a rocky outcrop with golden lichen growing over it.

These glass sculptures explore the beauty of stone bridges, harbour walls, dry stone walling and rocky outcrops.

Each composition is different, it’s only when it’s taken out of the kiln after a 6 day firing that I can see the result and tell if I've captured the essence of my inspiration.

This piece is inspired by the form of a rocky outcrop with golden lichen growing over it.

These glass sculptures explore the beauty of stone bridges, harbour walls, dry stone walling and rocky outcrops.

The compositions are evocative of the landscape and suggest rocks and stones placed harmoniously together contrasting defined edges with the softness of adjacent vegetation.

The blocks of colour echo the surrounding landscape, water and sky. They have a sense of place and atmosphere
